Where we're at
We started Rupt in 2024 in promotional products, an industry we know really well, and immediately started doing it differently. Recycled materials. Packaging that gets a second life. Custom jackets and shoes you can order one at a time.
That's where we started. It's not where we're stopping. We're moving into retail, DTC, apparel and footwear, collaborations and private-label collections, and we need someone to build what Rupt looks like across all of it. The goal is a brand people recognize without seeing the logo.
The job
You'll work directly with me on where the brand goes, run a team of two designers, and personally design a big chunk of the work. One week you're drawing a vintage-style graphic for a jacket. The next you're building the identity for a retail collab or figuring out what a Rupt pop-up looks like. If you'd rather review work than make it, this isn't the job.
The brand
Build a visual language that stretches across products, categories and markets, and stays cohesive without everything looking identical.
The work
Graphics, illustration, apparel, packaging, identities, campaigns, photo direction. You know art that looks good on a screen isn't the same as art that looks great embroidered on a jacket, and you prep production files yourself.
The team
Lead two in-house designers. Set direction, give real feedback, make them better, and design right next to them.
What's next
A seat at the table when we build new businesses, so the creative is right from day one and not bolted on at the end.
Probably you
- 7+ years designing, with real time leading other designers.
- Expert in Illustrator and Photoshop. You care a lot about type, color and composition.
- You know print production and product decoration: screen print, embroidery, patches, woven labels.
- Experience with apparel, consumer products, lifestyle brands, retail, or an agency. Fashion, outdoor, streetwear or something weird all count.
- You can art direct a shoot and take a concept from sketchbook to finished product.
- You've got a mental list of brands with real swagger. You don't want to copy them. You want Rupt on that list.
Probably not you
- You haven't personally designed anything in five years.
- You need ten people to execute a simple idea.
- You'd rather maintain a brand than build one.
- Your portfolio is mostly prompts. Use whatever tools you want. We're hiring your brain.
